It is anecdotal but a good example of how the life of a local child can be affected by the expat community here in Boquete and other places.
I received this information about a young boy, Manolito, a Boquete local, now in Europe.
First there was the Baptist Church performance..with Plenio and Daisy Ruiz. Then Jerry Hedrick of BCP suggested the BCP support him. Then, Bud Huber, got together with Heinz and Margarite, Heinz a classical pianist taught him more piano. Dave and Penny Ripple helped a lot. Dave and Manuel formed a bond since they are both from Spain.
We had two Concerts at BCP for him and collected money for his overseas schooling.
Manolito at the Hague Grand Final Prinses Christina Concours. The competition involved nine finalists from a total of 580 musicians from Holland, Belgium and Germany, between 12 and 21 years of age.
Manolito won first prize and audience award.

Manilito has talent, the local expat community recognized the talent and people helped make a dream real for him. A salute to him and all those who helped him make this happen.

I love happy news about inspirational young people like Manualito! Thanks, Lee.
Living in the Netherlands, well actually on Aruba, I saw him perform on the broadcast here.
He is a very talented person.
thanks Lee…there are a great number of us that can say “I knew him when”.
