This year the Boquete Jazz and Blues Festival has developed into adulthood. After years of looking for a venue, looking for talent, looking for an audience and looking for maturity it has happened. I would like to thank Hans, Barbara and all the others who have worked with them for putting Boquete onto the map with this event. I have only made it to three venues and doubt time will allow for more. My experience at the three events, The Thursday parade and Panamonte lawn party, the New Orleans Jazz at Las Ruinas Saturday and Amigos Saturday I need to say, WOW. Great music, great musicians and great organization.
Here are some photos of the faces that provided great entertainment.

wish I had been there for it……I love New Orleans style Jazz
Lee…I too feel that this was the best music festival yet, and I’ ve been to all the previous jazz festivals in Boquete. There was so much energy generated by the musicians, plus all the various venues with parties and just plain ol fun stuff on the streets, one couldn’t help but get enthused. Yep, great job by all the organizers. I heard many comments from the performers that they want to return next year, which bodes well for the future of the event!!
festivals are a whole different thing than club gigs.
you actually get to meet people, eat and party with them, its a much more intimate vibe.
the sign of a good festival is when the really great entertainers voice the desire to return
the following year. you’ve made musical friends. i think a lot of the boquete community
made new friends over the four days of this festival. the parade and ensuing party at the
panamonte was bizarre and wonderful, and it was a thrill seeing many local musicians
backing players who were on world tours.
