Today, November 28th begins three days intense partying in Boquete Panama. Today is independence day and the President of the Republic of Panama is coming to Boquete along with throngs of people intent on a good time. Still I am going to post about a restaurant in David Panama. When I recover from the celebration I will write about it.
Mana is a quant local in David easy to find and worth the effort. To get there you need to drive on the east side of Super Baru and turn left at Java Juice. About 100 meters down the road on the left side you will spot this sign.
Why Mana worth the effort? Most people from Boquete drive to David regularly and we often stop for lunch or dinner. Mana is a perfect stop, great food and low prices, not a typico but a restaurant with a nice menu and excellent preparation. The menu photo may not be clear enough to read but below is our dinner check it will speak for itself on the prices.

Prices aside I was shocked at the both the quality and portions. We ordered salads and expected small dinner salads for $2, Wrong.

The salad was a meal. I could not finish it and my entree. A way too large fried corvina for $5.

My dinner partner wanted to try langostinos, large shrimp. I was shocked at this plate for $5.

The owners are bilingual, the food cross cultural, the ambiance simple but pleasurable. We were both impressed. The current cliental is largely expats but the menu and pricing is affordable to the broad spectrum of Davidians also.

Four Heinekens, two salads, two entrees for under $21. I doubt you could find this quality and price in Boquete or Panama City, forget any place in the US or Canada or England or ….

I am not surprised that you enjoyed Mana. It is great place to go and prices are exceptional for what you get.
David’s two new Hotels, Ciudad de David and Best Western David) have restaurants that are upscaled but with reasonable prices. I also like Mosto Bistro.
I think they are all providing fine dining enjoyment.
I hve posted on all except Best Western and plan on going soon, maybe Sunday.
We agree with you Lee. We have never been disappointed there. And soon Restaurante Mana will become a weekly pickup location for Finca Santa Marta’s organic produce.
