Ten places not to miss when visiting Boquete Panama
Posted by Lee on November 19, 2009
I receive frequent emails from people visiting Boquete Panama. I often have the opportunity to meet them when they arrive. This week one reader Sabrina, is arriving and because I am in Panama City I will not have the opportunity to meet with her so I thought I would provide a list of the ten things I would not miss visiting Boquete.
This my list and if you live here or visit you are free to and some more items as you wish in comments. The list is no particular order because these are all favorites for me.
Day places
.
1.Take a tour of Boquete with Boquete Safari Tours. They drive the neat yellow trucks and will give a great orientation.
- 2. Have a real coffee experience with Richard Lipner at Finca Dos Jefes . Roast your own and take some java home.
- 3. If you are just a little loco try Zip Lining with the Boquete Tree Trek people
- 4. If you are really loco try While Water Rafting with Jim a Boquete Outdoor Adventures
- 5. Walk the town slowly and say hello to people and watch them smile back
- 6. Take a day trip to David and walk down Calle 13 de Noviembre and do some serious shopping
Night things depending upon the night

Weekends
- Stop at the Panamonte Bar for dinner and warm up cocktails in front of the fire place
- Head to Amigos for a second round and some music
- After 11 cross the bridge to La Cabana and party till the sun rises
- or Go to David and dance your heart out at one of the discos like Jordon Zebe.
Any way you do it enjoy the unique experience of Panama

I would add to that:
Paradise Gardens
El Explorador
The Bajo Mono loop
Lunch at El Sabrason
Caldera Hot Springs
Here’s a list of 10 things to do in Boquete, Panama for less than $10: http://bit.ly/2uqBMm
When Dave and I “checked out “Panama in 2004 and then bought the 2nd day in Boquete….we were advised at the Panamonte Inn to attend the Tuesday Morning Networking and Information Meeting (TMNIM) and also that the “Newcomers” wandered across the bridge to a hang-out called The Santa Fe for Happy Hour on Fridays.
We did Both. Now 5 years later everyone can cross the bridge to the brand new Centro de Eventos and BCP Theater grounds and experience the TMINM..Tues Market and who knows… Friday Happy Hour may be around the corner??? We welcome all to come see what is Happenning Here. You might see a performance,or a class,or a birthday party,or a Hobby Group. Renovated by BCP with Donations and Volunteers!!! Stop By..
Well you have certainly peaked my interest. My wife and I are seriously thinking about making the move and intend on coming down to get “the lay of the land” so to speak. I can’t wait as I am and always have been an adventurous soul, even at the ripe young age of 60
Sorry, I forgot Mi Jardin es su Jardin – a must do.
Also, have a delicious breakfast or lunch at Finca Lareda, and then drive up to the Volcan Baru National Park, and walk around the town center park and mercados, and drive the beautiful loop to Bajo Mono and Alto Quiel (also a beautiful walk going up to Bajo Mono). And come see the castle in El Santuario (just over 2 miles from the center of town) and see all the beautiful views. Stop for a mocha coffee at Villa Marita (free).
Hmmm….funny, I wrote about this the day befoe you did…my list includes a couple more things too.
Mi Jardin is an excellent choice. I would also stop by Los Molinos an hour before sunset and check the views from the cantina. The carpaccio (for meat lovers)at the Panamonte and the sliced tomato appetizer at Ou La La always pleases. Maybe a cocktail at the Zanzibar for a little local vibe. Also, walk deserted downtown Bouqete on a weeknight, then return on Saturday night for some real local flavor! And for Ric… before your first trip to Boquete have a look at an article I wrote for some travel tips… http://boquetelots.com/Articles.html.
Enjoy!
Does anyone know the real true story behind the Flower Garden?
