Day of the Dead Boquete Panama
Posted by Lee on November 2, 2009
In Mexico the Day of the Dead is a major event, a celebration, In Panama, Boquete included it is a serious day of mourning the dead. Today, November 1st is the Day of the Dead in Panama. Unless you visited a church or a cemetery you probably would not know.
I discovered that it was the Day of the Dead when I went to by a bottle of wine and found the liquor store closed, something only done under legal order.

Then I asked, learned and decided to visit the Boquete Panama cemetery. For the first time ever I discovered myself in a traffic jam at the cemetery.

Today was a day of remembrance for families in Panama. The cemetery was awash in flowers and crowded despite the rain. Tomorrow, November 3rd is the first of the annual Patriotic Holidays. Panama’s national party begins tomorrow.

Yes Sir,
You will be in for non stop parties and alot of drinking. Buy some earplugs so you will be able to sleep at night.
