For those who have protested the BCP calendar for 2013 was to heavy on drama this week you have an exception. El Grande Coca Cola is the polar opposite of drama, it is a bit tragic but only in a comedic sense of the word.
El Grande Coca Cola is a platform for an all star performance of Mark Perrin Jones, the Australian immigrant to Panama who lost his kangaroo someplace between Tasmania and Boquete. Mark is stunning in his role and the cast supporting him excellent.
This is not a serious play, this is a not a play it is really a flawed cabaret performance in Spanglish, French, German and English. Not to worry even if you cannot follow the dialogue you will follow the action on the stage.
This is the second time El Grande Coca Cola is being performed in Boquete. It was performed about three years ago to a packed house at what is now Mikes Global Grill, I wrote about it then.
This performance is more refined, not an appropriate word when used to describe El Grande Coca Cola. Note I did not call it a play, it is pure entertainment and if you do not laugh out loud during the performance you need to get a new hearing aid or a seeing eye dog.
El Grande Coca Cola is being performed at the BCP this week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7pm, and Sunday at 2PM. If you want some good belly laughs you should take in this last play of the 2013 BCP season.
